Sephora Ecommerce

Nothing terribly wrong with this site, in fact Sephora does a pretty nice job of a creating a clean ecommerce site. But why do they need those vertical bars at the top right? I wondered if maybe they expanded, were clickable or anything... nope just a little design touch.
