Page information slider
The Encyclopedia of Life has this nice little control on each entry to adjust how much information is shown on the page. The "Less" option shows just a high-level overview for each entry, while the "More" option shows tons more detail about the entry. I think this is a nice way to provide users with an appropriate amount of information for their interest or expertise level.
